अजीब दौर है देश का — एक तरफ भारत दुनिया को अपनी सैन्य क्षमता और कूटनीतिक समझ से अचंभित कर रहा है, वहीं देश का विपक्ष शायद किसी गुप्त योजना के तहत स्वयं को जनता की नज़रों में देशद्रोही घोषित करने पर आमादा है। कभी लगता है कि यह जानबूझकर किया गया आत्मघाती कदम है। 2014 से अब तक — पठानकोट, उरी, पुलवामा, रेसी और अब पहलगाम जैसे घातक हमलों के बाद विपक्ष का एक ही राग — “सबूत दो”। देशवासी खून के आँसू रोएं, पर ये जनाब सबूत मांगने की जिम्मेदारी उठाए बैठे हैं। ये कैसी राजनीति है भैया, जिसमें जनता का दर्द, देश की सुरक्षा और सैनिकों की शहादत से बढ़कर केवल एक ही चीज़ है — मोदी-विरोध?
पठानकोट एयरबेस हमला (2016) में जब पूरे देश का खून खौल रहा था, तब भी ये नेतागण पाकिस्तान से दोस्ती निभाने की दुहाई दे रहे थे। उरी हमले (2016) के बाद जब भारतीय सेना ने सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक कर दुश्मनों को ठिकाने लगाया, तो इनकी प्रतिक्रिया थी — “ये वीडियो दिखाओ”। मानो ऑपरेशन के लाइव टेलीकास्ट की मांग कर रहे हों। पुलवामा हमला (2019) में 40 जवान शहीद हो गए — पूरा देश एकजुट था, लेकिन विपक्ष? जी हां, वो उसी रट में लगा रहा — सबूत कहाँ हैं? इस दुर्घटना के बाद कांग्रेस ने तो घटियापा की सारी हदें पार कर दी थीं जब उसने कहा था कि प्रधानमंत्री ने आगामी चुनाव को ध्यान में रखते हुए खुद ही पुलवामा हमला कर के ‘फॉल्स फ्लैग ऑपरेशन ‘ कराया है।
अब 2025 में हुए पहलगाम हमले के बाद भारत ने ‘ऑपरेशन सिन्दूर’ के तहत जो ताबड़तोड़ जवाबी हमला किया — वो इतिहास में दर्ज हो चुका है। ड्रोन, मिसाइल और साइबर स्ट्राइक के समन्वय से पाकिस्तानी आतंकी ढांचे को नष्ट किया गया। दुनिया के 70 से अधिक देशों ने भारत की प्रशंसा की। अमेरिका, फ्रांस, जापान और यहां तक कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र तक ने भारत के संयम और सटीक सैन्य कार्रवाई की सराहना की। लेकिन हमारे देश का विपक्ष? वही पुराना राग — “डरपोक प्रधानमंत्री”, “कायर सरकार”, “सीज़फायर क्यों?”।
कांग्रेस और आम आदमी पार्टी की हालत अब उस विद्यार्थी जैसी हो गई है जो पूरे वर्ष स्कूल नहीं जाता और परीक्षा के समय कहता है कि पेपर लीक हुआ था। बलूचिस्तान और खैबर पख्तून की आज़ादी की बात हो या पीओके की स्थिति — विपक्ष अब इन मुद्दों को अपने स्तरहीन भाषणों से या तो विकृत कर रहा है या पूरी तरह से नकार रहा है। ऑपरेशन सिन्दूर, जो भारत की सैन्य नीति, टेक्नोलॉजिकल क्षमताओं और कूटनीतिक संतुलन का आदर्श उदाहरण है, उस पर भी ये पार्टियाँ ‘सबूत’ मांग रही हैं। बलूचिस्तान और खबरपख्तून की आज़ादी की अपनी लड़ाइयां हैं जो आज की तिथि में पाकिस्तान का आंतरिक मामला कहा जायेगा। रही बात पीओके का तो उसे युद्ध कर के कब्जाना वैश्विक राजनीति या पालिसी के तहत सही कदम नहीं कहा जा सकता। डिप्लोमेसी के तहत पीओके खाली करने का कड़ा अल्टीमेटम भारत ने पकिस्तान को दे ही दिया है। अब इस सीज़फायर को आधार बना कर बहुतेरी विपक्षी पार्टिया प्रधानमंत्री को ही डरपोक और कायर सिद्ध करने का अभियान चलने लगी हैं ; क्या देश की जनता इनकी घटिया राजनीति समझ नहीं रहीं ?
अब प्रश्न ये उठता है — क्या इन दलों को कोई राजनीतिक श्राप लग गया है? इतने गंभीर मुद्दों पर भी राष्ट्र के साथ खड़े होने की बजाय, ये गिद्ध दृष्टि से केवल राजनीतिक लाभ देख रहे हैं। क्या इन्हें नहीं समझ आता कि जब देश एक युद्ध जैसी स्थिति में होता है, तब सरकार का समर्थन करना विपक्ष का कर्तव्य नहीं तो कम-से-कम नैतिक जिम्मेदारी तो है ही?
सच कहें तो 2014 से पहले की सरकारों ने भारतीय सेना को एक बंधे हाथों वाला योद्धा बना दिया था। सीमाओं पर जवान शहीद होते रहे और दिल्ली में बैठी सरकारें बस शांति वार्ता की रट लगाए रहीं। लेकिन मोदी सरकार के नेतृत्व में वही सेना आज विश्व की सबसे कुशल और आत्मनिर्भर सैन्य शक्तियों में गिनी जाती है। क्या ये कोई छोटा परिवर्तन है?
कांग्रेस का इतिहास रहा है वोटबैंक की राजनीति का। जब उन्होंने भारतीय मुसलमानों को ‘पाकिस्तानी’ मानकर, उनको नाराज़ न करना , और उन्हें सुरक्षा के नाम पर डरा कर वोटबैंक बनाया, तब ही उन्होंने देश की एकता को विभाजित करने की नींव रख दी थी। आज भी वही नीति उनके राजनीतिक डीएनए में बैठी हुई है। मोदी का विरोध करते-करते कब ये राष्ट्रविरोध में बदल गया, शायद इन्हें खुद भी पता नहीं चला।
लेकिन जनता देख रही है। देश का आम नागरिक सब समझता है। अब जब ‘ऑपरेशन सिन्दूर’ की सफलता से पूरा विश्व भारत की रणनीतिक समझ और सैन्य क्षमता को सलाम कर रहा है, विपक्ष की यह नकारात्मकता उसकी खुद की राजनीतिक कब्र खोद रही है। देश में विपक्ष होना जरूरी है — लेकिन देशद्रोही विपक्ष नहीं।
कहते हैं नेतृत्व ही तय करता है कि उसकी टीम का प्रदर्शन कैसा होगा। भारत की जनता ने जब 2014 में नेतृत्व बदला, तब उसने केवल सरकार ही नहीं बदली, देश की दिशा और दशा भी बदल डाली। आज हम केवल जवाब नहीं दे रहे, बल्कि ऐसे जवाब दे रहे हैं कि दुश्मन सौ बार सोचता है कुछ करने से पहले। और इस स्थिति में अगर देश का विपक्ष अभी भी ‘पकिस्तान जिंदाबाद’ की गूंज सुनता है, तो ये उसकी राजनीतिक अंधता का प्रमाण है।
प्रधानमंत्री को ‘डरपोक’ बताने की हिम्मत करने से पहले कांग्रेस को अपनी पार्टी की दशा देखनी चाहिए, जहां हर नेता एक-दूसरे को नीचे गिराने में लगा है। आम आदमी पार्टी, जो ‘ईमानदारी’ का मुखौटा पहनकर आई थी, अब भ्रष्टाचार, गालियाँ और राजनीतिक अस्थिरता की मिसाल बन गई है। ऑपरेशन सिन्दूर के बाद से यह चेहरा और भयावह दिखने लगा है।
ऐसा लगता है मानो आज का विपक्ष अपनी राजनीतिक आत्महत्या के एजेंडे पर काम कर रहा है। जनता से दूर, राष्ट्रहित से दूर, और ज़मीन से कोसों दूर। यदि इनका यही हाल रहा, तो निकट भविष्य में विपक्षविहीन लोकतंत्र की भविष्यवाणी सच हो सकती है।
यह केवल आलोचना नहीं, चेतावनी भी है। राष्ट्र से बड़ा कुछ नहीं होता। मतभेद राजनीति में स्वाभाविक हैं, लेकिन राष्ट्रविरोध की हद तक चले जाएँ — यह अब जनता बर्दाश्त नहीं करेगी। भारत की जनता ने अब ठान लिया है — जो राष्ट्र के साथ नहीं, वो राजनीति के योग्य नहीं।

Editorial: A Deliberate Suicide — When the Opposition Stands Apart from National Interest

What a strange time this is for our nation — on one hand, India is astonishing the world with its military precision and diplomatic maturity, and on the other, our own Opposition seems hell-bent on branding itself as anti-national in the eyes of the public. One wonders — is this a conscious, self-inflicted political suicide? From 2014 till today — be it the deadly attacks in Pathankot, Uri, Pulwama, Reasi, or now Pahalgam — the Opposition’s singular tune has remained the same: “Show us proof.” Let the citizens bleed and mourn — the Opposition’s concern lies only in demanding evidence. What kind of politics is this, where the nation’s grief, its security, and the martyrdom of soldiers are seen as less important than sheer Modi-hatred?
When the Pathankot airbase was attacked in 2016 and the entire country was seething in anger, these political leaders were still busy pleading for friendship with Pakistan. When the Indian Army carried out surgical strikes post-Uri, their first reaction was, “Show us the video,” as if they were asking for a live telecast of the operation. After the 2019 Pulwama attack that claimed the lives of 40 soldiers, the nation stood united in pain — but the Opposition? Still stuck in the same broken record: “Where is the proof?” Congress, in its trademark insensitivity, even went so far as to claim the Prime Minister himself orchestrated the Pulwama attack as a false-flag operation to win elections.
Now again in 2025, after the brutal Pahalgam attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, a decisive counter-offensive that has already entered military history. A calculated blend of drone warfare, missile precision, and cyber strikes crippled Pakistan’s terror infrastructure. Over 70 nations praised India. The United States, France, Japan, even the United Nations acknowledged India’s restraint and precision. But what did our Opposition do? Recycled the same rhetoric: “Coward Prime Minister”, “Spineless government”, “Why a ceasefire?”
The Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have now turned into that student who bunks the entire year and then blames the exam for being unfair. Be it Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s liberation struggle, or the sensitive situation in PoK — the Opposition has either distorted facts or shamelessly denied them in their juvenile speeches. Operation Sindoor, which stands as a testament to India’s military vision, technological strength, and diplomatic dexterity, has also become a target of their skepticism. They continue to demand ‘proof’.
Yes, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have their own independence movements — and presently, these are Pakistan’s internal matters. As for PoK, waging a full-scale war to annex it may not align with international policy or diplomatic wisdom. Hence, India issued a firm ultimatum to Pakistan through official channels. But the ceasefire that followed became yet another excuse for the Opposition to malign the Prime Minister as cowardly. Can the public not see through this petty politics?
And so, we must ask — has the Opposition been cursed politically? Even on matters of such gravity, instead of standing with the nation, they hover like vultures seeking political gain. Don’t they realize that during wartime or high-alert national security events, standing behind the government is not just a responsibility, but a moral obligation?
Let’s not forget — before 2014, our soldiers were the same, but their hands were tied. Soldiers died at the borders while governments in Delhi kept mumbling about “peace talks”. Under Modi’s leadership, however, that same army is now recognized as one of the most capable and self-reliant forces in the world. Isn’t that transformation significant?
Congress has long practiced vote-bank politics. In appeasing Indian Muslims by equating them with Pakistan, and weaponizing their fears in exchange for votes, Congress laid the foundation for a fractured national identity. Today, that same policy runs in their political DNA. In their blind hatred for Modi, they no longer realize when their opposition crosses into betrayal of the nation.
But the people are watching. The common Indian understands. Now, with Operation Sindoor being hailed globally as a masterpiece of military strategy, this pessimistic, doubting Opposition is digging its own political grave. A nation needs a vibrant Opposition — but not one that sounds like the enemy’s spokesperson.
They say leadership defines the character of a team. In 2014, when India changed its leadership, it didn’t just change a government — it changed the direction and destiny of the nation. Today, we don’t just respond — we retaliate with such strength that enemies now think twice, or a hundred times, before provoking us. And if, even now, our Opposition hears echoes of “Pakistan Zindabad,” it is a testament to their political blindness.
Before calling the Prime Minister “cowardly”, perhaps Congress should look within — at a party where every leader seems more interested in tearing down their colleague than building anything substantial. The Aam Aadmi Party, which came draped in the robe of honesty, now stands as a poster child for corruption, vulgarity, and political chaos. Post-Operation Sindoor, these cracks have only widened.
It seems the Opposition is actively pursuing a political suicide agenda. Detached from the people, alienated from national interest, and far removed from ground realities. If this continues, the prophecy of a democracy without an Opposition might very well come true.
This editorial is not just a critique — it’s a warning. Nothing is above the nation. Disagreement in politics is natural — but not when it crosses into anti-national territory. The people of India have now made up their minds — if you’re not with the nation, you’re not fit for its politics.
